UARC Call for Volunteers for Summer Outreach

A Call for Volunteers!

__What:__

  Leaflet vegan outreach literature to attendees of the:

   Gallivan Center Come Alive Concert Series and the Twilight Concert Series
   http://www.slcgov.com/PublicServices/Gallivan/calendar.htm

  Volunteers are expected to show up at 6:30 pm, 30 minutes before the event begins, to pass out Why Vegan? and Even If You Like Meat brochures (http://www.veganoutreach.org/advocacy/resources.html).  This will reach a great number of people and give people something to read and discuss in between music sets.  You can leave when the concert gets underway, probably by 7:30 pm.  If we can pass out even 100 pieces of literature, we can make a difference for the animals suffering in the meat and dairy industry.

  Secondly, for those up late, UARC has a body screen which will be displayed as the patrons leave the event, from 9:30 until 10:15.  This is an LCD television worn over the chest of a volunteer which shows first hand the horrors of factory farming and other industrialized animal cruelty.  This requires one person trained in the body screen usage, and another for support/passing out literature.  Someone will need a car to take the luggage-sized case of the body screen.
