### FIRST MONTHLY POTLUCK AND VIDEO SCREENING ###
For the cold months, UARC will be hosting a monthly indoor potluck and video screening. This week will be the first of these:
Where: 529 N. Center St. (west of the capitol building)
When: Thursday, 6 October @ 6:30 PM - video will start at 7:30 PM.
What: Vegan potluck and video screening!
To attend, please bring a potluck dish to share with others. If you can't bring a dish, you may bring $6.00 instead to eat, but we'd rather see food than money. Dishes and utensils will be provided.
The video has yet to be decided, but we're thinking about one of the following:
Babe, Chicken Run, Peaceful Kingdom, The Witness, Bambi, Finding Nemo
Yes, they're mostly cute and furry, but all have distinct animal rights messages that we'd like to enjoy. If you have a good idea on what we should watch, let us know.
To ensure good turnout of meals, please RSVP to Eric (ewaters at uarc.com, 560-8238) with what you will be bringing to make sure there is a good varied spread of food. Do not just bring chips or chocolate soymilk - we'd like to see home cooked food. Here's the categories we'd like to see filled:
Finger Foods & Appetizers (chips fall into this)
Soups & Stews
Rice & other sides
Entrees
Deserts
Drinks
We look forward to seeing you there - it will be fun!

### VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES ###
There are many opportunities any given week for volunteers to help with UARC's goals. Here's a few of things we need your help on:
* Adopt a VSK Stand *
PETA has graciously given UARC thousands of Vegan Starter Kits and stands upon which to put them. We would like to place these stands across the valley and have them frequently refilled. Your responsiblities would include finding a highly trafficed place to put the stand, get permission from the owner of the building to place it, and refill the stand frequently.
To volunteer for any of these things, simply reply to this email. Thanks to Julie, Sean and David for volunteering!
### #########################################
That's it for this week.
Please consider becoming a member of UARC; with your membership card, you will get discounts to Coffee Under the Bridge, Sage's Cafe, Bangkok Thai, Bag Lady Boutique, Good Times Tattoo, and the Health Deli in St. George. To become a member, visit http://www.uarc.com/membership.html
Thanks!
