UPDATE: Ching Farm Animal Sanctuary volunteer day this Sunday

UARC will not be having a BBQ this weekend, as the days are getting cooler, and the Ching Farm Sanctuary needs our help!  We will be carpooling down to the farm on Sunday, meeting at Coffee Under the Bridge (511 W. 200 S.) at 10:00 am.  Below are the details from Autumn Wagner. This weekend is an important winterizing volunteer opportunity, both for people
and for the animals. For this weekend only, we will have machinery and tools
available to make the homes of the animals weather-proof before the really cold
weather comes. We are wanting as many people as possible, as there are many
houses and projects to be completed. We will be working all day both days so
even if you can only stay an hour or two, that would be great! Please layer your
clothes and dress appropriate for the weather.

The directions to the farm are as follows from the Salt Lake Valley:
1.  South on I-15
2.  Take Bangerter exit (this is the exit after 12300 south Draper)
3.  Turn right going west onto Bangerter highway
4.  Go Through 3 traffic lights
5.  Turn left on 13400 south with arrow traffic light.
6.  Drive 5 miles (through 2 traffic lights)
7.  Turn left at Rose Canyon Road, which is a four-way stop
8.  Drive 1/2 mile
9.  Turn right at the three-way stop, which is continuing on Rose Canyon Rd
10. Drive 1 mile
11. You will see a lot of construction and cones on your left side
12. Turn left on Majestic Oaks Lane (this is the first dirt road on your left
    after the construction)
13. We are the first house on your right
* Park in front and carefull with the front gate!

Two main rules to remember:
1. If you pass through a gate or door, shut it immediately after yourself as an
   animal will try to get though.
2. Please don't touch anyone's horns; that is how they play with each other and
   we don't want them to play with people like that.
 OUCH!

UARC will be meeting at Coffee Under the Bridge Sunday at 10 a.m. for a carpool.
UARC will be out from 11-4 p.m. If you want to stay longer, please arrange for
another ride. Other groups and individuals are coming out as well. Together we
can all make a difference!
