Sorry for the irregular News & Events emails since the new year.  I'm still getting back into the swing of things after the holidays.  I'll send out a normal email on Sunday, but needed to bring the following to everyone's immediate attention.


### SUNDANCE FUR DEMOS ###

Sundance is here, and UARC is planning on outreach and demonstrations in Park City every day for the next 10 days!

As you may know, the Sundance Film festival is a great opportunity for animal rights activists to get out our message to the tens of thousands of people visiting Park City.  For an exciting video of UARC and PeTA's naked protest in 2001, check out:

## Big Demonstration ########################

Firstly and most importantly for this email, we are having a demo on Saturday:

 Protest details:
 ----------------
  What:  Massive fur demonstration
  When:  Saturday, 21-January, 2006, at 1:00 pm
 Where:  Downtown Park City at Park Avenue & 9th Street (the bottom of new Main Street)

We strongly suggest people car pool to the protest, as the traffic will be crazy and the parking even worse.

 Carpool details:
 ----------------
  When: 11:30 am, returning to Salt Lake no later than 3:30 pm
 Where: The Bridge (511 W. 200 S.)

This is a permitted protest, and unfortunately we are being relegated to a probable crappy location -- but we'll make the best of it.  Please dress warmly!! I can't stress this enough.  Hot apple cider and chili will be provided, but gloves, a scarf, and possibly thermal underwear should be worn, depending on weather conditions.
  

## Nightly Outreach ##########################

UARC will be having a nightly presence in Park City with our body screen and leafletting in front of the fur store(s).

For those that haven't yet seen, the body screen is a television worn on the chest that shows a looping video of the true story of the fur trade.  For a photo of it in action last year at the Gallivan center, see:

  What:  Outreach in front of fur stores
  When:  Every night from 20-January until 29-January
 Where:  Meet at The Bridge (511 W. 200 S.) at 5:30 pm to carpool to Park City.  The nightly location in Park City (as in, which store) may vary, so please get in touch with us before driving up to confirm where to meet.

If you are interested in helping with this, please contact Eric Waters (ewaters at uarc.com, 560-8238) or Sean Diener (sdiener at uarc.com, 759-9598).  We need to know who will be helping out, so please let us know rather than just showing up.  But, if it's a last minute thing, we understand, and would rather have you than not!
