LEHI ? Most girls dream about meeting a handsome young prince, being swept off their feet and riding off in the sunset atop a stunning stallion.
In Jennifer Cowan's case, that's exactly what happened. She fell in love, and he is tall, dark and handsome. The difference is Prince is a horse, one of the 15 horses Jennifer Cowan uses to teach young students the ropes of horse riding.
"I'm on the ground assisting, but the horses are the ones that are teaching," Jennifer Cowan said of Prince's ability to sense if students are scared or stubborn. "If (students) are prideful, (Prince) will be more stubborn, more of a challenge." ...

If you count that he was dumped at a ranch as a kitten, that's one life. Then there was the time he was trapped under concrete for two days ? subtract another one.
Tom is a mild-mannered indoor cat by day, outdoor prowler by night ? no cat doors for this tabby. When the Roylance family gets up in the morning, Tom is usually waiting at the front door to be let in the house.
But on June 13, Tom wasn't there.
If you believe the 1970 animated film "The Aristocats," then ". . . a cat's the only cat who knows where it's at."
And under the driveway was where he was at. ...

http://www.sltrib.com/utah/ci_3978248
VICTOR, Mont. - Scott Reesman drove a big shovel into the heap of wood chips, hoisted a load, then dumped it onto a couple of deer carcasses.
Another load of chips, and two more Montana road-kills were on their way to becoming fertilizer in piles next to U.S. 93. Given a few months to decompose, with natural heat in the pile rising to about 140 degrees, the deer that fell to traffic on one of Montana's busiest highways will be reduced to coarse compost. ...
